Budget Hearing Testimony
Miriam Gholl attempted to read testimony into the record at the March 20th budget hearing, but Commissioner Slaughenhoupt asked staff to interrupt her twice because he felt the testimony did not relate to the budget. (Even though the hearing was not being run by the Commissioners - they sat in the audience.)
Read the testimony here and judge for yourself. These Commissioners are shutting the citizens completely out of every process! They don't allow questions to be asked at public hearings, and now they're trying to censor testimony!

More importantly, citizens need to know and respond to the fact that this budget proposes an increase in debt services from the current $100 million to $270 million! AND staff left this fact out of their presentation at the hearing!

The public hearing record is open for written comments until mid-May. You can email your comments to: Timothy.Hayden@calvertcountymd.gov
